Profiling the work of a Boston-based grassroots organization which helped draftees explore their legal options for resisting military service, this documentary portrait offers a thoughtful critique of patriotic obligation. Using the law to keep young men out of the war, this group helped over 150 people each week escape service and educate themselves and their communities about alternatives to combat.

About VAMP

Launched in 2014 by a group of filmmakers, archivists and concerned members of the public who wished to ensure the survival of artists’ films in Vermont, VAMP officially became a program of VTIFF in May 2015. The VAMP committee has broadened the initial concept to include all types of films and videos made by VT filmmakers or shot in Vermont.
