Silent footage of the various steps involved in printing the October 19, 1938 edition of "The Campus" paper at Middlebury College. Here we follow the process from typing out text on a linotype machine to proofing the text and layout to guiding paper through large mechanized presses. What was the news of the day? Stories ranged from reporting on a memorial service to student reactions to an exhibit of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings in Forest Hall. There was even an ad for the Town Hall Theatre, which at the time was showing the blockbuster film, "Spawn of the North."
