Produced for broadcast on PBS's World of Audubon, for The National Audubon Society in 1993, this program introduced Americans to "Ecotourism" for the first time. It's hosted by Sam Waterston. The Environmental Tourist reviews the evolution of ecotourism and how it is developing in Kenya, Belize, and Montana as a tool for conservation of natural resources and if it can sustain the well-being of local people. Included in this video are many useful tips on how to enjoy wilderness areas without upsetting the environment. It was broadcast both on PBS (longer non-commercial version) and Turner's TBS (shorter, commercial version) as a National Audubon Society Special. It was the seed that Megan Epler Wood planted that she used to grow The Ecotourism (later The International Ecotourism ) Society.

The VAMP committee has broadened the initial concept to include all types of films and videos made by VT filmmakers or shot in Vermont.
