Rusty Dewees

Rusty Dewees

1984 graduate of Champlain College (Burlington, Vermont). Famed throughout Vermont for his one-character play, "The Logger: A Play in 2 Ax", which he has performed many times throughout the state since he first created it in 1997. On 5 May 1999, the Vermont House of Representatives passed Joint House Resolution 104 to honor him for his contribution to Vermont's cultural heritage. The lucky break which led to his film career came when he was hired to shovel snow from the driveway of actor Benjamin Hendrickson's Vermont home. Hendrickson told him he had a great look for commercials and helped him with connections when he got back to New York. His father drove a bus. He grew up in a section of Stowe, Vermont called Stowe Hollow. Though Rusty often speaks about "Nativer Vermonters" and talks about being a Vermonter himself, he has admitted in performances that he was actually born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
