A nine part series intended to show Vermonters (and others) "the history of Vermont farming, its importance in the development of the state, the practical and public policy issues facing Vermonters today, and a celebration of the Vermont farmer." The Farming Project was a major research and production project for Vermont ETV and was over a year in the making. The series began with an hour-long overview of the history of Vermont agriculture ("Measured Furrows: Vermont's Farming History"), continued with four programs on farming in Vermont today ("The People," "The Market," "The Tools," "The Future"), and concluded with a series of four "town meetings" on contemporary issues taped on location around the state.
