An on the scene visit with the outstanding American painter Luigi Lucioni in his home in Vermont, in the field as he paints, at the exhibit of his collected paintings at the Shelburne Museum, and at various scenes all around the state of Vermont which the artist has painted. We learn of the techniques used by Lucioni, of his evaluation of other contemporary artists, of his evaluation of the art masters of the past, and of his philosophy as an artist.
