Lake Champlain and its surrounding valley hold great significance to our nation's history and independence from the Green Mountain Boys' capture of Fort Ticonderoga to the Battle of Plattsburg in the War of 1812. Long the home to Native Americans, the fertile valley beckoned European settlers. The 1800s saw the growth of commerce on the lake as steamboats plied its waters, and railroads transported goods to far-off markets. Visit Fort Montgomery and learn how Fort Blunder got its name. Sail aboard Benedict Arnold's gunboat Philadelphia and view the Colchester Reef Lighthouse. Enjoy the region's natural beauty as you discover Lake Champlain, America's most historic lake.

The Vermont International Film Festival is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the community and bring the world to Vermont through film.
Launched in 2014 by a group of filmmakers, archivists and concerned members of the public who wished to ensure the survival of artists’ films in Vermont, VAMP officially became a program of VTIFF in May 2015. The VAMP committee has broadened the initial concept to include all types of films and videos made by VT filmmakers or shot in Vermont.
